History

James & James was formed in 2005 as a joint venture between James M. "Mike" Fowler and William F. "Tripp" James III. With three full-time employees and four commission-only sales people James & James sells and services a full range of employee benefit programs for clients ranging from 2 to 250 employees. Our market focus would be accounts involved in self-funding or clients who provide multiple plan options.


Principals


James M. (Mike) Fowler, CEBS

Mike is the senior officer of James & James Benefit Brokers. Mike has over 30 years experience in employee benefit sales and service. He has worked as a large case sales executive for Metropolitan Life and John Hancock, specializing in medical cases with 250 employees and up. During the last 20 years, Mike was an employee benefit executive with Marsh McLennan Companies, retiring in 2004 as senior vice president managing a large benefits office with accounts ranging from 50 to 9000 employees. During his career, he developed specialized expertise in both large case medical management and voluntary products. Mike is also an avid chef and outdoorsman.

William F. (Tripp) James, III

Tripp brings youth and enthusiasm to James & James. He has been a licensed life and health benefits producer since 2004. Prior to the formation of James & James, Tripp was a sales executive with Horne/Guest Insurance Agency in Greenville, SC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University. While an undergraduate student, he was a member of the Clemson Golf Team that won two ACC Championships.
